Paramount finally bringing Stardust to Blu-ray

June 24th, 2010 admin

I’ve been waiting for Stardust to be released on Blu-ray for what seems like an age. I was so upset to have missed out on seeing it in the cinema but dead set against picking it up on home video at the time it was initially released. You see, it was only released on DVD and HD-DVD. Stardust (Blu-ray Review)
Is ‘Stardust’ worth sprinkling into your Blu-ray collection? People aren’t what they may seem. When it comes right down to it, the “happily-ever-after” Fairy Tale might be the most reliable basis for a story that ever was. No matter whether it’s in literature, oral tradition, song, or film, there’s something...

Criterion working on bringing House (Hausu) to Blu-ray?
Killer lampshades. Girl-hungry grand pianos. Spooky cats with sparkling eyes. Hausu is, without question, the freakiest, most peculiar horror film ever made. And now, it seems that Criterion have gotten their mitts on it and are preparing it for home video! It didn’t take a lot of imagination to deduce that the greatest home video label...
Stardust (Blu-ray)
Stardust (Blu-ray)
Highly Recommended Unless I’m reviewing something, I’m the kind of guy that needs to hear some opinions on a film before I go and see it blindly, especially if said film has been flying low on the hype radar. I saw a trailer for Stardust a few years ago and thought it looked intriguing enough, but I never heard anything following its...

Paramount brings Saving Private Ryan, Escape from L.A. and K-19: The Widowmaker to Blu-ray
Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers have become a single entity in my mind. I have a hard time recalling what events, what story-points are covered in which film/show. Both the film and the series have the same creative teams at their core and feel very similar, from the way they were shot to the music behind them. That being said, I’m...

Exam trailer finally online
Exam, the psychological thriller from British director Stuart Hazeldine, has finally appeared online. I say finally because I actually saw it at the Edinburgh International Film Festival earlier this year, the trailer that is, and it looked really interesting. However it fell fowl of the problems that often do with films at the EIFF press screenings,...

The Sopranos: The Complete First Season Blu-ray Disc Review
THE SOPRANOS: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON (1999, Blu-ray released November 24, 2009 – MSRP $69.98) I’ve been a fan of The Sopranos since day one. I watched every episode as it aired and loyally purchased every season set on DVD as they were released. With both parts of season six available on Blu-ray for some time now, I’ve found...

Have you picked up your copy of Star Trek on Blu-ray yet? If the answer is no, allow me to introduce you to one of the multitude of fantastic special features on the disc – the gag reel. Me? I refuse to watch this bad boy on YouTube, as I’ve got a copy of the Blu-ray disc waiting for me at home. I don’t want to spoil any of that...
